[Solo RPGs] Adventures of yesteryear.
Last year (strangely enough 51 weeks ago to the very day!) I played a handful of sessions with a mix of different rules and generators that normally don´t gel well together. This post is just a quick rundown and some comments about those sessions. I stopped playing the campaign for a multitude of reasons with the idea that I could revisit Olvars tale and the explorations into the Barrowmounds by the Adventurers Guild. I never really got around to it again as other hobby-projects took over and for now it´s still in cold-storage.
The systems used are Dragonbane, White Box:FMAG, D100 Dungeon, Perplexing Ruins Solosheets, Barrowmaze and a few snippets of my own design I'll make a separate blogpost about.
A new island has been settled by the kingdom and the King in his infinite wisdom gave orders to the Cartographers Guild to map it.
We will follow the ex-armyscout Olvar, a rugged wolfkin used to traveling alone in rough conditions. As an expert in mapping out the land not only with his nose (as all wolfkin are), he also understands the ways of the 'blunt-teeth' and their need for drawn maps and the written word.
This is the map the initial settlers provided to the Guild. It´s generated with a simple D6 system for the coastline (which I have forgotten at this point) and Perplexing Ruins Solo Sheets for the features themselves. My first session consisted of making the map and the PC Olvar, together with some folks on my Discord, in Dragonbane.
The second session. The map filled out nicely in a couple of hours playtime. Olvar had a couple close shaves with combat but managed to surviva to tell the tale. After 2 weeks of explaration Olvar took a longer break in the settlement of Bygate.
In the third session w... [REDACTED, as is the custom today]

For the fourth session I wanted to do some dungeoncrawling so a group of adventurers, fresh of the boat, took on the task of clearing out a small cave of goblins from a cave outside of Bygate. They were never heard of again...
I used D100 Dungeon as generators and White Box:FMAG for the rest.
An area only known as the Barrowmounds have been found on the island and adventurers, graverobbers and necromancers alike flock to the old burialgrounds.
The fifth session was the story of one such group. Barrowmounds & White Box:FMAG.
Our jolly adventurers returns to the Barrowmounds in the sisxth session. While retriving a magical sword, our heroes killed a horde of skeletons, a couple ghouls and a dreadful Shadow. Barrowmounds & White Box:FMAG.
Good times.
