[Musings] The future is stupid..
I'm spending my day glancing over at the screen where a couple of hundred progressbars are slowly getting filled up to 100% one at a time.
I'm downloading vlogs/videos from the YTs as I fear that content with a great deal of informational value will eventually go bye-bye. The flood of AI-generated slop is completely taking over the site and it´s increasingly hard to find good content amongst the sewage.
With the exponential growth that AI-content is being uploaded and the way the All Mighty Algorithm pushes for it, there might not be a need for the company to keep old videos around in a few years time. Why keep storage for things that noone watches anymore you know?
The problem isn't even with YT itself, it's the millions of people watching the slop every day that are the cause. The algorithm is just the symptom.
In a perverse way the company is acting exactly as they should, as a companies first objective is to make as much revenue as possible for the shareholders.
Real life Idiocrazy sucks.
