Skaldsdrápa

Welcome to the Skaldsdrápa.

This blog serves as a journal about some of the analogue hobbies I have spent most of my life exploring and enjoying. It's the place where I write about wargaming, roleplaying, writing, painting, crafting, learning new things, exploring culture — and the reflections on life that grow out of them.

While I post things on other media platforms from time to time, there is an ever-increasing sense of meaninglessness in doing so. I believe it's a symptom of the age we live in.

A time...

...Where the ongoing narrative is that if we are not perpetually online, we don't exist.
...Where we are supposed to build up our online personas to the point where we "become the next big thing" or "go viral."
...With an increasing feeling that if hours, creations, or projects can't be monetized, they are not worth doing.

This blog is a manifesto against these times.

A manifesto for doing things for me, because they bring me joy.
An ode to creativity for its own sake.
