[Wargaming] Orktober -26

For once I remembered that Orktober was closing in during the last week of September. (I usually remember, like, on the 28th of October itself...)

I did a shoutout on the local DBMM-geezer Discord for some 15mm orclings, and Patrik kindly donated a bunch on the grounds that I came over to his house and did some orcheology. Said and done, or rather, it took a couple of weeks to actually meet up and have a proper dig in his stuff.

The models are/were a planned project for a 'uge orc-army, bought in the way-way before-times. Checking the puddlebases, they are mainly Ral Partha -94 and HP -95. A couple have TSR -91 on them, but they were probably made by RP as well, I think.

Planning the project, I knew I wanted some not-greenskins, but rather a more traditional Drakar & Demoner (Dragonbane for you outlanders) look. So more olive than actual black/brown. Then there's the issue of 15mm looking too dark overall from a metre away, so I needed to pick out something bright that could match the old-school feel without just looking like shoddy Bad Moons.

In another chat, after mentioning I'd kinda like to do a turquoise troll since it kinda looks like a Scrag, Danny suggested orange and teal. Done and done.
Mordheim in 15mm? Well, maybe.

I also did a few CTAs for the folks on said Discords to join up for Orktober, and in the end one person rose to the challenge; Andreas. He had started his project back in -07 by painting the critter, and 19 years later he finished with the rider. Lovely model, great paintjob, and he can finally lay that piece of the leadmountain to rest (or rather, put on display). Just one of all the oldhammer models that really puts a smile on my face, painted in just the right style and with utmost care. (Also, with that white background, it kinda looks likes something out of an ad, ngl. :P) 10/10.
